Linux/Unix Technical Support This is the area for Linux/UNIX Technical Support. This is for free advice relating to server configurations, troubleshooting, as well as home & workstation support. Be sure to do proper searches prior to posting so we do not have Duplicate postings. As well, try to keep the various flavors, and topics aligned. This will prolly only cover particular flavors of Linux and UNIX only because there are thousands, so if you have general questions post the info in the "Other" forum here in the Linux/UNIX TS area.. |

Services
The services that make Linux and Unix what they are are rather important to understand. To understand that many of the applications that run on Redhat, will also run on Mandrake, Suze, Debian, FreeBSD and even Solaris. Apache, Squid, FTP apps, SSH, LDAP etc... These tools are the sh!t! |

Fighting Virii
Preventing virii (viruses) is a bit more complex in Linux than Windows, but with the proper skills, you should be able to determine if you are indeed hacked, and to what extent. |

Hardware This is the section for hardware related questions. Generally speaking you should only post in here fore stuff like printers, and it's jammed, or howto refill ink..., What's as USB key? and you don't know what you're doing type-a' situation. Other than that, you should be software specific, and start with the OS, such as Windows, and create a new topic over the Hardware Device. Such as: Adaptec RAID 4805SAS - Windows XP - Installing Drivers Setting up a wireless network Can't figure out how to install a video card? If you are not that technical, that's OK. We can straighten things out as we go... |
